Kuch sawaal zindagi badal sakte hain

Working with creatives Sagar Mahabaleshwar, Nitin Pradhan, and Vivek Kakkad, we suggested Dogme 95 style as a tone of film making for this spot. This kind of shooting on real locations and presenting reality as is, wasn’t much preferred in advertising commercials at the time but we were backed by the creatives and thus moved in that direction confidently.  Filmed across Delhi, Mumbai and Pune by DOP Sanu Varghese, the ad featured warmer tones and camera on sticks for SRK’s childhood and blue tones for the present, while a hard contrast and a handheld camera captured the gritty realism of Bombay. Makrand Deshpande’s voice-over, paired with a cinematic background track by Tapas Relia, effectively created an anti-fit serious tone for a film that was funny to the core.

Shrey Bawa was chosen as the child actor after extensive auditions in Delhi and Mumbai, his performance as kid Shah Rukh won everyone’s hearts.

The release of this spot was much awaited as Shah Rukh Khan was being announced as the new host. A road block was created at Star and at 9 PM on the release date, this 2-minute 10-second spot aired across all the Star Network channels and went on to achieve great popularity. This was the opportunity we were looking for to showcase our talent as new humor creators.
