Pushpendra Nath Misra

Pushpendra hails from Lucknow and is an alumnus of the National Institute of Design. He believes that everything begins with a good script and that the craft should mostly be invisible. He is known for his unique casting and his forte is drama and humor. In his words – My audience is also my canvas as I want to tell the stories of the people to the people. Being a designer has helped me tremendously in my storytelling as it has provided me with the tools and the sensibilities to make art accessible.

Pushpendra is the Founder/Director at Flying Saucer, where he has directed and produced hundreds of commercials. He has also directed ‘Ghoomketu’, a web film and two of his shows ‘Taj Mahal 1989’ and ‘Choona’ are successfully streaming on Netflix.

Pushpendra’s work has won several nominations at Cannes, Clios, Adfest, New York Festivals and many awards at Kyoorius, Abbys and Promax.  ‘Taj Mahal 1989’  won a host of awards at various platforms – Brand Equity Spott awards for Best Series, e4m Play awards and Indian Telly streaming awards for Writing while ‘Choona’ was nominated at this year’s SWA awards for Best Dialogue and Best Screenplay. In 2024, partnering with Sonali Bhatia, he started ‘Antariksh Prasaar’, a media lab experimenting in content and ideas.
